1.       What developments can you note differently between the European documents in 2007 and 2015?

2.       What developments can you note differently between the local documents in 2007 and 2015?

3.       What parallels do you note between the European and Malta’s policy developments?

1. What key features are common to all the different approached to inquiry science taken?


2. What is a particular feature of inquiry which you can identify for each of the approaches taken? What is the main emphasis on?

Please reflect on the questions set:

Task 3:

a.  Having discussed inquiry-based learning in science, develop one inquiry activity – State the title and age of students, and include the inquiry question, the investigation to be carried out, and how children are to consider their observation as evidence to draw conclusions;

b.  Reflect on the skills and competences that you need to have in order to be able to support other primary school teachers;

c.  Reflect and list what skills and competences; do other primary teachers lack to be able to deliver inquiry-based lessons in science

please find the assignment in attachment. You can work in pairs.

May I remind you that those of you who wish to implement the planned training prepared in the assignment in their school that the project will support them.


I would also like to know who of you would be interested to travel to PISA as a study visit as part of the project activities. Preference will be given to those who will go on to support teachers in their school to implement inquiry.
